Occupational and Hand Therapy at the Spectrum Therapy and Wellness Center
Occupational Therapy
A Licensed Occupational Therapist will evaluate, treat, and instruct you on how to incorporate lifestyle and occupational considerations to improve your daily activities. The occupational therapists at the Spectrum Therapy and Wellness Center will work to help restore your independence during daily tasks, facilitate your return to work, relieve pain, and prevent or limit physical limitations due to illness or injury.
Hand Therapy
A Certified Hand Therapist treats people with conditions affecting the fingers, hand, wrist, arm, elbow, and shoulder area. These conditions may be a result of injuries that result in wounds, scars, burns, injured tendons or nerves, fractures, or even total amputation of the extremity. Common diagnoses include traumatic events, degenerative arthritis, and cumulative trauma disorders, such as tennis elbow and carpal tunnel syndrome.
There are stringent requirements for becoming a Certified Hand Therapist. Occupational Therapists or Physical Therapists must complete 4,000 documented patient contact hours, have a minimum of five years of licensed practice, and successfully complete the Certified Hand Therapist Examination. We are proud to have Certified Hand Therapists on staff at the Spectrum Therapy and Wellness Center.
