Some Superheroes Wear Scrubs: Celebrating Our Orthopaedic Surgeons in Honor of National Doctors’ Day
Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Thor… When we think of caped crusaders that graced Saturday morning cartoons, a multitude of famous superheroes come to mind. In times of struggle or stress, just call, and they would come to save the day. But not all superheroes wear capes and fly through the sky. Some save the day—every day—by working miracles right here in your hometown.
March 30: National Doctors’ Day
In honor of National Doctors’ Day on March 30, we want to call attention to our talented surgeons here at OrthoUnited. Superheroes who wear scrubs instead of capes, our surgical team helps patients in our practice by mending broken bones, alleviating pain, and even assisting people in healing and walking again after traumatic injury.
National Doctors' Day was first celebrated in 1933. Today, March 30 is a recognized national holiday during which we take the time to pay tribute to those who provide patients the opportunity to resume living pain-free after injury or surgery.
Our Doctors are the Best in Northeast Ohio
At OrthoUnited, we provide our patients with the best orthopaedic care in Northeastern Ohio. Our team of American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery certified or certified-eligible surgeons each offer a specific area of expertise. This attention to care and detail ensures our team of doctors has received the most up-to-date education in orthopaedic subspecialties, including pediatric orthopaedic surgery, hand, and upper extremity surgery, foot and ankle surgery, arthroscopic surgery, joint replacement surgery, reconstructive surgery, and sports medicine. No matter your treatment needs, one of our caring and compassionate surgeons can help you begin your recovery journey.
Orthopaedic injury and trauma can have a significant impact on your quality of life. It can be challenging to participate in hobbies, sports, or enjoy the highlights of your day-to-day activities (such as playing with your grandchildren, hiking with your dog, or cooking with your family) when pain and discomfort overshadow your experience. When faced with the idea of orthopaedic intervention, many patients grow nervous or concerned about potential outcomes or concerns about the impact of treatment and long-term recovery possibilities.
Choosing the Right Orthopaedic Surgeon
Selecting the orthopaedic surgeon to best suit your unique and individual healthcare needs may seem challenging. At OrthoUnited, we want to provide the right guidance and support to help you confidently select the best surgeon and practice for you.
When choosing a surgeon, there are certain qualities you will want to look for. Although the list below is not exhaustive, it can help give you a place to start when deciding. Your surgeon should be:
- Specialized in the area of care you need
- Backed by caring staff and a supporting practice
- Compassionate and kind
- Patient-focused, with their primary focus on optimal patient outcomes
- Use the right tools—robotics-assisted surgery
