He joined the team at Spectrum Orthopaedics in September 2013, where he has excelled at achieving optimum patient outcomes in difficult spinal conditions of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine, as well as conditions with the neck and lower back.

Dr. Stefanko graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He then attended Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine where he received his Master of Science degree in medical education, followed by his medical degree. Dr. Stefanko completed an internship and residency at Millcreek Community Hospital before completing an orthopaedic spine fellowship at West Virginia University’s Ruby Memorial Hospital.
During his extensive medical training, Dr. Stefanko completed rotations in general orthopaedics and sports medicine, as well as specialized training in trauma, total joint reconstruction, foot and ankle, and spine conditions. His spine fellowship allowed him to closely study trauma, degenerative conditions, and adult deformity, with some exposure to pediatric spine cases.
Published Work and Accomplishments
Dr. Stefanko co-authored a paper published in May 2016 in the Journal of Neurosurgery: Spine, and a chapter publication on cervical trauma titled “Surgical Treatment of Orthopaedic Trauma: A Comprehensive Text and Video Guide.” He has been the recipient of awards from the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics (AOAO) for his research on subtrochanteric femur fracture, and his research and presentation on vertebroplasty versus kyphoplasty. Dr. Stefanko is the official team doctor for Massillon Washington High School.

Dr. Stefanko is a member of a number of highly accredited associations in the field. He is currently serving as the Spine Division Vice President for the AOAO, and he is the President-Elect for 2020-2021.
